WELCOME TO FOUREVERGREEN
FourEverGreen is a hydroponic farming company that grows high quality, healthy food, using sustainable production methods. We are committed to ensuring that our processes and produce match our four core values; healthy, sustainable, eco-friendly, and ethical. Our vision is to create food security for a growing world population.
Hydroponic farming enables land locked, urban and suburban dwellers to grow more crops in smaller spaces, and to establish profitable farm businesses. This is about food security, sustainability, OUR environment and the future of agriculture. It’s the food YOU eat!
FourEverGreen also intends to introduce its own brand by the same name in to supermarkets and health stores in Hong Kong, southern China and elsewhere.
WHAT IS HYDROPONICS
Hydroponics is the science of growing plants without the use of soil, using only water and nutrients. The word originates from the Greek word ‘hydros’ meaning water, and ‘ponos’ meaning labour.
The earliest known example: the Hanging Gardens of Babylon
HEALTHY & NUTRITIOUS
Hydroponics is healthy and nutritious – no germs, harmful bacteria or contaminants
GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
It’s good for the environment because it requires less land and uses fewer resources
90% LESS WATER
Hydroponics uses less land, 90% less water, is free of pesticides and has a minimal carbon footprint
HIGH YIELD PER ACRE
A farmer can achieve between 450 and 550 tonnes of vegetables per acre compared to the average yield of 15 tonnes per acre using traditional farming methods. (Source: Financial Times)
FROM SEED TO LETTUCE
Hydroponics produces crops much faster than traditional agriculture. 25-30 days is all it takes to grow from seed to full sized lettuce
Our farmers have managed to obtain a zero wastage output with a uniform production
YOUR FUTURE IN THE FUTURE OF AGRICULTURE
Food is a basic human requirement and is the second biggest commodity on earth after water. We all need it, we always will. Demand will always outstrip supply. Populations will increase, land availability will diminish and water supplies will dwindle. Inflation will occur. Hydroponics provides a way in which we can help reduce the increase in food prices, and shortages.
The global food market was valued at 4.21 Trillion USD in December 2009 with agricultural produce accounting for 52.6% of the total value.
